It's Mass Effect Andromeda. But honestly, chances are this is going to be a crummy game anyways. It's going to be uninspired repetitive gameplay with a cast of companions who's character arc is just a puzzle box of hidden pain and victimhood you unlock by consistently picking the understanding dialogue choices until you can finally tell them "It's not your fault" and then have sex with them.

Yeah. My experience with Dragon Age III pretty much ended my interest in Bioware RPGs. They're just not as well-made as they used to be. It went from a somewhat dark, fantasy role-playing game to a SJW-utopia piece of "diversity" shilling garbage. Hollow characters and storylines, boring dialog, cringe-worthy morality pushing, etc. I have no doubt that Andromeda will just be Bioware doubling down on the same bullshit, especially given the tweets of some of those involved.

I really loved the look and feel of Dragon Age II but god damn, you'd have to really be on your toes to avoid a homosexual encounter. Yes or No, do you want to makeout with the gay guy? No. Are you sure? Yes. How about you just meet up with him later? No.

Pick wrong once and you're fucked. I would of liked a no homo option in that game.

You are right, I meant Andromeda. I think my efforts to mentally block out ME3 were successful. A little too successful.

I think the problem with ME3 was not only in the game but with reviews as well.

With a big RPG most large sites don't have the time to play through the whole thing before their review has to be shat out.

Now don't get me wrong, there were cracks throughout the game but those were countered by a lot of good, well made parts. It was kinda weird how they switched the overall narrative in the third game but whatever, people can deal with that. That goddamn ending is the real deal breaker here. Lazily slapped together and the 'Extended cut' bullshit (which was the perfect opportunity to fix so many issues), that 'expanded' the 'different' endings while not compromising their 'artistic integrity' only added further insult to it. Even the Citadel fanservice DLC couldn't fix that. Then there was the micro transaction multiplayer, which should only ever have made the game once the campaign was polished and done..

I'm sure the game was successful financially in the eyes of EA executives but the loss of trust in the BioWare brand from fans (same thing with Dice) is something they can't fix.

So in general: Don't buy the new Mass Effect and don't fucking preorder anything from the likes of EA or Ubisoft.

Don't mention the sex part and you'll do more to persuade the ME fanboys than posting an article about supporting Bioware.

It's so sad to see their amazing engine technology wasted on shallow games with garbage writing and pathetic gameplay.

I received The Division for free when I purchased a video card...It was like receiving cancer for Xmas. The game is so unbelievably pretty looking...and then the narration makes you feel like you are living inside an Uwe Boll fan fiction, a helicopter crashes for no reason, and you are told to shoot a whole lot of homeless black people who are supposedly ruining New York via looting even though the place is already a post-apocalyptic hell-hole and your character is encouraged to loot at every opportunity.

Also the skills, talents, gear, and combat sucked, but I honestly would encourage you not to even install it because it required installing origin and registering an account with EA which made me feel dirty.

I sure can't wait to see what they pull off in the Mass Effect universe for $100 + $50 season pass.

When they first showcased the division they showed a single player version of the game while using a story line written by the guys from Massive entertainment. Halfway through development ubisoft canned the legitimate creative talent that they got from buying Massive(big big mistake), got rid of the story, wiped out the single player, downgraded the graphics to appease a dying console gaming audience, then removed the hardcore mode so everything was a bullet sponge, finally adding insult to injury they took out the net code massive had created in favor of one that gave laggy wifi users(a serious problem with console gaming) an advantage over people with low pings. Most of the single player events that told the story were also removed and replaced with random warlords which didn't make any sense, as well as the player models got all metro sexual like most Ubisoft games for some reason. The same bullshit ruined Farcry 4 and the entire Splinter Cell franchise.

I think the problem with Ubi (and ea) is that there are too big for their own good. Those who are in charge don't even attempt to come up with a bold creative vision. Instead they think they know what's best and make a formulaic game that panders to the lowest common denominator. By trying to make a game for everyone and failing to pick a core audience, they end up making a game that's great for no one. To top things off, every dev, writer and game designer gets to take a half-assed shit in the soup, then that gets the Ubishit label, and they call it day.

I had a stupid friend who wouldn't shut up about the division for weeks before it was released.

I mention it 3 weeks later and he just gives me the look of a broken man.

Before you consider buying Mass Effect 3, take a moment to consider the advice of someone who beat it enough times to get all the endings:

Don't waste your money.

[–] Slayfire122 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Dude. Just beat it once then watch the other endings online... unless you enjoyed it enough that you want to play it again.

It was a good game, and most people who played it, liked it. A lot of people got swept up in a meme of fake outrage. The fact that there was at least one really significant problem with the ending (and arguably additional smaller ones), inflamed the meme rage to even greater heights.

That polished piece of turd doesn't deserve the ME3 title. Unfortunately neither does this latest release.

Won't be buying.

Yes it is from 2012, I'm guessing the article can't count and went mass effect, mass effect 2, mass effect 3, mass effect andromeda well that looks like a second 3 to me.

Not a problem. I wasn't crazy about the cover shooter hallway simulator to begin with.

ahh but now the engine will accurately simulate alien beer bottle clutter physics in real time.

That's not really fair. ME3 in particular has some brilliant, fluid gameplay at higher difficulties, in fact I still play MP from time to time.

I never got around to 3 because I got tired of the gameplay I described above by the end of the first two titles.

Bioware thinks that all they need ot do to sell a game to idiots is make then run through corridors of chest high walls for a few dozens hours with the occasional "Do you want to be a cool guy or a mean dude" moral "choice" option and let you fuck an alien at the end.

and apparently it works.

[–] CarthOSassy 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I mean... If the hallways are cool, the shooting is good, and the shallow moral mechanic still manages to open up interesting differing arcs, and the alien is hot... I'm sold. Fucking take my money.

Are you gonna claim fucking sprite-based doom was high modern art? A Mona Lisa? Shit I've paid money for games that consist largely of trying to cram a reticle into a succession of rectangles at a high rate of speed. There ain't nothin wrong with Bioware's formula.

They just need to fire the snowflakes and let the real writers and engineers make good games again.

I played the last Mass Effect because it was on super-steam sale and I picked it up for like 5 bucks. (This was before I was made aware of the fucktard and his bullshit agenda... had I known, I wouldn't have even bought it then...)

I didn't even make it all the way through, because it was pretty fucking boring. Sure, there was some action here and there, but most of it is exploring dialog trees which is fucking tedious.

They can keep their franchise, and their fucking identity politics along with it.

3 feels pretty incomplete without 1 and 2, but if you don't like the dialogue it's not your kind of game anyway.

[–] GimmeTheUsual 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Oh, I like engaging and INTERESTING dialog, but fucking trees of bullshit that are redundant and make no real difference to the main storyline is a fucking snoozefest to me.

Like so many games these past few years, the division had the potential to be much better if only the development of the game went in a different direction in a lot of areas. I kinda liked mass effect 2 in some ways and hated it in others (been a while, memory of the game isn't too great plus it was the first and last time I played ME). I'm sure Andromeda will not be worth buying and it's a shame. If only the companies that make these decisions for their games were run and made up of completely different people than the people who are working on them now.. The concepts and ideas of some games like these are sometimes sound but the game itself is garbage.

Then you are in luck you can have mass effect 3 right now or back in 2012 when it came out!
