Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.

This trailer is for Freedom Planet, a game developed by GalaxyTrail using Clickteam Fusion 2.5. It originally began as a Sonic fan-game before being redesigned as an original work and later funded via Kickstarter. This is why the game is so heavily inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog. It also takes elements from other 8-bit and 16-bit era games like Gunstar Heroes, Mega Man X, Rocket Knight Adventures, and even in some aspects, Super Mario Bros 2.
This game allows you to play as three characters: Lilac, Carol and Milla. Lilac is like a mix between Sonic and Sparkster, Carol lacks speed (apart from when you have the motorbike) but is very adept at melee combat, and Milla is slow and weak, but she can conjure blocks and barriers with her mind.
The game is currently (at the time of writing) 70% off on Steam for the next 25 hours.
Having purchased and played this game last year, believe me when I say it's on par with, if not superior to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The story isn't the best, and the voice acting and scripting leaves a lot to be desired but GalaxyTrail have effectively taken everything that is good about a Sonic game and removed a lot of the frustrating elements (i.e. cheap deaths) which hampered Sonic's level design in the past.
It's actually quite ironic that an indie studio has one-upped Sonic Team, Dimps and BigRedButton...
