Well duh, it's Nintendo we're talking about here. They don't see people, they see walking wallets.

Why do people keep thinking Nintendo will just allow stuff like this?

To be entirely fair: That emulator was not a fan project, the devs behind it (and with them, Microsoft) made money with the emulator, although I'm not sure how the customers did get the actual Game ROMs.

That being said, I think this takedown is justifiable. If it was a non-profit project, on the other hand, I'd tell Nintendo to sod off.

Whether you like it or not, emulators themselves are 100% legal.
