Easily. If they didn't force employees to act like total cunts and offered a welcoming atmosphere they would have a much better rep. Bottom line would be better in the long run too. GameStop is 50% responsible for the entire industry being in the shitter.

I think retail in general is a big issue with it. No one likes going to Walmart for an Xbox game, just like no one enjoys trading in a game at Gamestop for $5 store credit when they will sell it for $45. Retail is depressing and hostile towards employees and costumers. That's why fake smiles and fake cheerful greetings are strictly enforced.

Walmart is the best kept secret for buying games, they price match practically anything. I once got a 30 dollar game for 5 bucks because it was cheaper on their website

Shit pay, have to wake up early in the morning, have to deal with shitty parents and their kids all day, have to push shit on people that they don't want, etc.

So in other words, the problems that pretty much all retail jobs have?

They're basically the Walmart of video game stores.

That's what I thought as well. I don't doubt that gamestop is probably a terrible place to work, but the article presents no information about it at all.

EDIT: I found the problem. Gamestop was on the list in 2012. This data is over 4 years old. I wonder how much they improved?

I wanted to read what 24/7 said about Gamestop to put them in the #10 spot.

I searched and found one article from this year by them published in June, 2016.

http://247wallst.com/special-report/2016/06/10/the-worst-companies-to-work-for-2/2/

But wait, there is a problem, Gamestop is not on this list. The #10 spot is Kraft Heinz.

Does Kraft Heinz own Gamestop? Is there another article I could not find? Are they referencing the wrong article? Is this just made up?

Is this a troll, or legit?
I thought this was a 2012 analysis. Far too old for current discussion. (but hey, when they finish that time machine...)
