Can someone show me samples of the kinds of sensitive data it's transmitting? So far I haven't seen anything that suggests it's really that big a deal. What exactly is it stealing?

EDIT: I see there's a little blowback on the votes for this, is it really that unreasonable a question? If you're going to accuse a company of something nefarious, does it not make sense to understand exactly what they're doing wrong?

Information collected by the SOFTWARE includes, but is not limited to, CUSTOMER SYSTEM'S (i) hardware configuration and ID, (ii) operating system and driver configuration, (iii) installed games and applications, (iv) games and applications settings, performance, and usage data, and (iv) usage metrics of the SOFTWARE.

So we don't really know what else they're collecting. When we know more I'll let you know. Right now, I'm calling it spyware.

From the looks of it, it's not too egregious. Looks like it's mostly the programs you use and general information about how you use them, e.g. statistics and whatnot, and how you use nVidia's software itself.

So it doesn't look too ominous. Mind you, I think that it will become more ominous soon enough; it seems like they're starting small and will start putting out their feelers to see just how far they can expand.

Right, but if you look at anything that collects metrics it almost always uses the same or similar wording. I'm just not sure that the actual intent is there, and really you can't be sure until you've seen the data it's trying to transmit. I'd be willing to bet that your phone transmits more information about you than geforce experience does.

I'm not trying to tell you that you're wrong to be wary, especially in the current government surveillance climate. I just think that people tend to go off half-cocked without uncovering the whole story. Assuming there even is a story.
