So if you're a lazy fuck like me and like using Shadowplay, the driver updater or even optimising your shitty games then this is for you.
nVidia rolled out GeForce Experience 3.0 a week ago. With it comes the change that an account is required to use it. You have a choice. Google, Facebook or a nVidia account. There is currently no way around this in the current release. Now you may be wondering, why the fuck does nVidia want me to make an account? Here's the reason they offered:
Q: Why are you requiring an account to access GeForce Experience?
A: An NVIDIA account is needed to deliver rewards and giveaways, GameStream pairing, Share features, and more.
Now this wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't fucking mandatory. I for one don't give 2 fucks about rewards, giveaways, or any of that shit. Just let me record my games, update my drivers with ease and fuck off. Except there's another catch.

To the extent that Customer uses the SOFTWARE, Customer hereby consents to all of the foregoing, and represents and warrants that Customer has the right to grant such consent.
Yeah, nah. Get fucked nVidia.
Rumour: There has been reports of obnoxious game advertisements in the driver update section of the new Get Fucked Experience. Yes, even worse than what it was. If/when I find easily verifiable proof I'll update this section.
So what can you (yes you goats) do?
There's a few options:
-
Email/Tweet/Facebook/Call/Write a letter to nVidia and let them know how fucking retarded they are. CC Intel as well while you're at it.
-
Use a previous version of GeForce Experience found here. AFAIK it is still possible to use an older version for driver updates. How long that will work for is unknown. If you choose this option, rename the Setup.exe in "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForce Experience\Update" to stop it trying to force the update upon you whenever you run GE. Alternatively, follow these instructions.
-
Give nVidia the middle finger and plan your next upgrade on AMD. This will be my choice unless this shit is fixed and I've been an nVidia user (and preferring it over AMD) for the better part of a decade now.
-
Sign in through your facebook, google account, let them harvest your data. May as well install Windows 10 while you're at it.
Just a Snowden quote to remind you why you should give a shit about your privacy.

Install Linux. Install standalone NVidia binary drivers. Enjoy gaming without either your OS or a subset of your graphics drivers spying on everything you do.

Don't enjoy most of the newest AAA titles.

So, I checked the most anticipated AAA titles of 2016, just to see how accurate this statement is, and here's my findings:
Dark Souls III: No Linux support
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: Linux support announced for October
Final Fantasy XV: Doesn't even have PC support
Mass Effect Andromeda: Pushed, but Bioware has hinted SteamOS support
Mirror's Edge Catalyst: Has gold rating in Wine
Overwatch: No Linux support
Street Fighter V: Announced forthcoming Linux
The Last Guardian: This is the most vaporware game ever
Uncharted 4: Isn't this a PS exclusive?
XCOM 2: Full Linux support
Once you knock out the games that don't even play on PC at all, or have been pushed to 2017 or later, it's a pretty competitive list. You miss out on two games, which sucks if you were looking to play Dark Souls or Overwatch, but hey, you can always keep a Windows partition on the back end to sate your need for player-abusive titles, if that's your bag.

Honestly, the AAA development scene has gone so far into the shitter, I can't even remember the last one I was interested in. Besides Witcher 3, which is going to have Linux support eventually anyway.

Post on social media how proud you are of being a tool.

First off, plenty of games on Linux these days. On top of that, an acceptable solution is to dual boot and keep all your private stuff on the Linux partition.
