So what? The first (and only) time I saw that shit on my computer after updating my drivers I got rid of it. What is it for anyway?

No. It doesn't change the card's settings, it's for autoconfiguring graphics settings in games that are supported, shadowplay, shield streaming, and LED controlling apparently. It's not afterburner.

Video Recording, including the background recording like on consoles. It's lighter on resources and easier to use than OBS, but less options.

Shield in-home streaming. You can also do this through other apps on Windows and Vita.

Driver updates and Optimization, which suck.

Everything else FPSFairy mentioned comes from your manufacturer (or at least it did for my MSI card). Unless you want the streaming (which already required an account) or the recording, it's not worth it.

Ah yes, the thing that caused the program to go into a cascading crash on my laptop and chewed away at two cores until I got irritated enough to dig into what was going on. Those NVidia guys are so good at coding.
