What you're encouraged to post:
Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.

This is all well and good, but what does this have to do with Crash Team Racing?

My first thought too.

That game remains one of my favourite racing games of all time and definitely my favourite racing-based spin-off game. Jak X was such a letdown.

Metal Gear warned us about a lot of things. Nuclear deterrent, Biological weapons, Political entanglement, Infomation Control, Censorship, Corruption, Private Military Corporations. I wouldnt be surprised if an AI was controlling the worlds ecnomony. Its like an artist sees the world for what it actually is and makes a painting out of it. Hideo Kojima is a mastermind genius.
I rememeber playing this game back in 2001 and since then Ive be a skeptic about everything challenging peoples views (even when I agree with them) this game opened my mind. It might have been a mix of this and 9/11 that changed my 12 year old mind but after that year the world seem small to me.

I've never played it but now I want to. Which is the best one to start with?

3 is a good place its the first game chronologically in the storyline it also still feels really good and doesnt that "dated" feel. it still holds up really well.

If you really want to get into Metal Gear, the first one was on Playstation. That's where this quote in the OP is from I think, although it could also be the second, I don't remember.
There are even older games but the story really starts with the first one on PS1.
Phantom Pain (the fifth game since the original PS version) came out awhile ago though for the new systems. The whole story has advanced quite a bit but it's still a really excellent game with the same principles. It's a great game, but there's not much replayability there.

Haha, I wish a super-intelligent AI was controlling the global economy. Instead we have a bunch of functionally retarded central bankers and politicians who have never earned an honest dollar in their lives and have the intellectual integrity of L. Ron Hubbard's dick cheese pulling the strings.
Better hope for a financial reset or (benevolent) AI singularity soon, before they fuck up our civilization for good.

Lots of Japanese sci-fi is. For instance, Ghost in the Shell predicted Anonomous, the importance of social media in greater public discourse, and information terrorism.
