I'll admit a guilty-pleasure here; Stardew Valley. Didn't care for Harvest Moon very much as a kid, but it was on sale at Steam (isn't that how every other story starts?) and I snagged it up. And it's fun. And addicting. Way moreso than I thought going in.

...bought a second copy so the wife could play. Some day there's going to be multiplayer and she's pretty excited about that. Gotta admit, I didn't think I'd like it anywhere near as much as I do.

SHRUG!

I love every little bit of Stardew Valley. Instant classic in every sense. It blows Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon out of the water (imo) while also being a sort of love letter to the genre and incorporating only the parts of those games that make them great while also setting itself apart. Also, it was designed by one guy! Truly an amazing game, the likes of which you don't come across very often.

Looking forward to the console release.

It's about perfect for consoles, too - I've taken to using my DS4 with it and it feels really natural and easy to do everything.

Couldn't agree with you more. Even stuff like... okay, for me it was fishing. It was annoying to learn, it took me a few minutes to get the grasp of it and I even gave in on it. "What a dumb mechanic, what a frustrating and pointless mini game to throw in there, fishing sucks." Then it clicked, and an hour later I'm focusing on fishing with a smile on my face. It's well done, and that's putting it incredibly mildly.
