I keep telling people, this game is going to burn like Spore did.

The hype train is going to crash and burn and I'm going to be so sad.

Be like me. Set your standards so low that when something is good, you're pleasantly surprised.

Honestly, NMS just reeks of people who have no idea how to make a game. They have the technical aspect down, but no storyteling or anything else such as gameplay. Kinda sad TBH.

That's different though. Spore fucked up some time before it came out. It was good, then some dickwad in marketing fucked it up.

I AM REALLY SALTY ABOUT SPORE DON'T GET ME STARTED.

As much as I don't want this to be the case, I think you're right. I have felt that way since I first heard about the game. The massive size of the game world is a red flag in my book. It means that there is going to be a lot of repetition, and, therefore, boredom.

I think it just might be too big for it's own good.

Lack of depth and it's perceived childishness. I kind of enjoyed Spore, but I mainly loved the concept of it and not really the game itself which didn't really pull you in. It wasn't bad, but it could have been something much much more.

100% correct.

The same 30 minutes has been shown at events for the past how many ever years. People are already tired of seeing it and the hype has died down. Plus, it's not a game that is going to catch on with streamers or youtubers. It might be an excellent game but it's going to tank.

Terraria has a linear and beatable story.

Just saying.

Haha I mean yeah, it's satire. Obviously he didn't say any of that. The Kotaku article linked in there is the real part.

Meh they don't want to compete with overwatch.

Who could blame them really. Battleborn seems to already be having issues there.

I played both. Neither is very exciting but I found Battleborn unbalanced as hell and just not very fun. Always online mandatory prologue was retarded too.

I want to complain about the delays, but then I look at the Division and wish that Massive would have followed No Man's Sky with the delays to make it playable... Not that The Division is completely unplayable.

But yeah, No Man's Sky is literally going to be no man's sky if they never release it.

This feels like the indie versions of Watchdogs. Just taking far, far too long to happen, overhyping everything to an extreme level. I just hope it's sort of fun at this point. Just give me that.

Man I was so disappointed by Watch_Dogs. All the constant delays and hype got me ready for that game. All the "hack everything! Control Chicago with your smartphone!" stuff made me pre-order Watch_Dogs. It was the first time I'd done that since Fable 3.

Watch_Dogs was fun, but the hacking elements were far less impressive than they wanted you to believe. You think I'd have learned my lesson after Hype Machine Disappointment that was Fable 3.

The Division is REALLY fun for like a weekend.

It's just trying to shoot guys in the head over and over and over.

The Dark Zone can be fun.

People ruin things.

Am I the only one that generally doesn't like randomly generated environments?

Maybe you just haven't seen procedural generation done right. It's easy to get it wrong. In a very real way the universe around us was generated procedurally. Using simple, fixed rules stars and planets formed from available resources in predictable, yet random patterns.

I'm pretty sure this is satire. Sure reads like it.

It's entirely satire. Other than the link to the Kotaku article, which talks about the apparent delay that hasn't yet been commented on by Sony or Hello Games yet.
