Now i've played a fair bit of each mode I feel I've formed a good opninon of the game.
I LOVE IT! The single payer is a fastpased, helldiving, chaos machine and it's incredibly fun.It also has a strange amount of depth to it that i didn't expect within the different challenges, collectibles, upgrades and secrets. I also love that the character who you're playing as shares thesame mentality as you do as the player. There's a story going on that could be complex and intrigueing but you don't care, you're just here to kill demons.
The multiplayer is like a different bag of sweets but from the same brand. It does it's best to keep the fast paced shooting and demon slaying but has to make some compromises in order to keep it a balanced game that doesn't become too out of control. This causes it to deviate from the single player A LOT. But... that doesn't mean it's bad. It's still a huge amount of fun(in my opinion) and definitely has a huge amount of customization options and challenges that aren't neccesary but were added just to give it a bit more depth.
Snapmap.. well is very much in It's infancy but is already spawning some great maps with many different types of game modes and strange creations. For example I was playing a memory game... In DOOM.
Anyway, that's my thought. As usual with these posts, I'd love to hear what you have to say. Love it? Hate it? Let me know and let me know why. With DOOM essentially having three game modes. Let me know how you feel about each one. :)

I honestly think the intensity and polish to that intensity and chaos in the single player is worth price of admission alone. As someone who played the originals as a fun little game growing up that I never really got into. The nostalgia wasn't really there, I still think it is an incredibly fun and engaging game. Not many shooters have me hooked quite like DOOM.

i used to sit and play wolfenstien and spear of destiny every day at work and then one day, this thing called doom was released and i was hooked. once we figured out you could play over a network we quickly devolved into non stop daily matches in the office with all the employees and the owners. we didn't get shit for work done but it was a glorious time to be alive.

Not the same DOOM but I love that story. I wish I could work somewhere where this was possible. Unfortunately though LAN games really are a rarity these days. The newest one I know of is rainbow six siege. Getting a full workgroup to all be playing that together on LAN though would be awesome!
