I disagree. If Oculus had maintained full autonomy, (basically they would get Facebook's financial support, but Facebook would get the profits), I think it would have been fine. But this is Facebook we are talking about. It doesn't work like that. It never works like that.

Selling to Facebook was a betrayal, clean and simple. Their initial funding campaign explicitly stated that they were independent. In fact, had they stated that they would sell after taking off during their campaign it's pretty obvious they would have been shat on by the very same people who supported them initially.

That was never a possibility and anyone who claimed otherwise was just deluding themself. FB owns Oculus, period. They literally sold out, there is nothing that prevents FB from doing whatever they want to it.
