What you're encouraged to post:
Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.
If you're not sure, ask!
If you wish to, you can archive your posts here.

Amnesia: Dark Descent with headphones at night.
I think I played the game for a total of 75 minutes, never to install it again.

I keep starting this game, and giving up on it for the terror reason.

I have 56 minutes in that game because I thought it would be more immersive to play in my pitch black basement with noise cancelling headphones. I damn near shit myself when my cat brushed against my leg. Never again.

If you like Amnesia, you should check out Frictional's earlier Penumbra series. It's well-written and just as scary.

Limbo was the first to genuinely fright me. It was a gentle, ambient game about an adventurous boy ...
I'm glad I went in not knowing what the game was about. It made it that much better.

Dead Space I couldn't sleep for a few nights and decided to play this huddled up next to the TV alone in the house with headphones on.

This reminds me of my first play though of Dead Space as well. It was 3AM and my GF was asleep so I was in the computer room and wanted to try a new game so I started up Dead Space. Did I mention I had the lights turned down and that I have a 50" TV and surround sound in my computer room? I jumped so fucking hard when the first necromorph appeared that I damn near shot my mouse clear across the fucking room.

Was once playing Slender at work (I worked 2nd shift IT back then). Dark outside, turned off all the lights, put on headphones. Someone came in to get help from me and I almost punched them as I feel out of my chair and promptly scrambled away screaming.
Not one of my prouder moments.
