Perhaps I'm being silly by thinking she might've been abused. If she's into submission or is simply sexually deviant, I'm totally fine with it.

its not abuse if thats what they want. this is the problem with feminist framing, they have labeled everyone as being the same. maybe she just likes sex? maybe she wants to be used for sex.
"some of them want to use you, some of them want to be used by you, some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused" -eurythmics.

Yes it is quite silly to think that someone has been abused based on this single picture with no context at all. You are almost saying that someone that makes such a decision in life must have been abused at some point.
Moreoever it is silly to feel sad for each decision, you disagree with, made by a person that has been abused. You are basically saying that every action, that you disagree with, an abused person makes, would not have been made if that person was not abused.
There are adults out there that are perfectly healthy, and smart, and capable of making their own decisions and forming their own thoughts, and still do/say things that you strongly disagree with or cannot even fathom.

You are missing my point though. It's not about my approval of the tattoo or her decision, it's simply what the tattoo reflected into my mind as an emotion. As someone who has seen too many tragic lives, it's easy for my mind to think about the darker possibilities.
