The distortion made them both sound like children arguing. Probably could have used a better illustration than a feminist leaving a debate because she's being called "a cunt".

I kind of expect they are. I have since I saw their username and before the drama. It just seems likely given the way the internet crumbles. Then again, I've been online since the 80s. One thing I have learned in some 30 years is that there are very few women on the internet. This number does seem to be increasing. However, I'm not trusting anyone to be honest about their gender or their usernames. If you see "Mr. Happy Pants" as a username you can bet they're not happy (and will show you) and they probably aren't even wearing pants.

What's going on here? I feel like I'm missing something.

Edit: Thanks for the replies, I hope /u/She gets fired as a mod soon.

U/she is a mod for askvoat and they deleted a post that was critical of them personally under the guise of an easily misinterpreted rule that wasn't a complete sentence. This caused people to investigate her other mod choices and people were quite disgusted by her behavior. People want her to step down from her position of authority and her response has been no. Many people, feeling powerless to remove her, destroyed her via history because there is a comment cap if you have negative cp. Rather than just make a fucking alt account, u/she even went so far as to whine about it to change the rules, that would make troll accounts easier to exist, because she feels censored. Then there was a post yesterday of a mod interview where a user roughly named penis wizard showed that the process was essentially asking their opinion on she, and if he is a social justice warrior. When he said no and responded poorly to both, the interview was terminated despite not asking a single question on his ability to actually fucking moderate.

The tldr is /u/she is almost universally reviled but still defiantly clings to their power.

I'd like to expand on a few things in your post for those who haven't been following this drama. First off, /u/She was made a mod of /v/AskVoat (a large, default sub) when she was a new user (by god knows who) with less than 2 months on the site. Like you said, her moderation was very poor and controversial. She exploited a policy that allowed her to petition for **ownership **of /v/AskVoat when she had 2 months on the site. This created a shitstorm because users already had issues with her abusing her mod status and fucking up the community. Voat's creator (atko) was so vocally disgusted by her antics that he removed AskVoat as a default. Because the policy was already in place to autopilot the transfer of an "orphaned" sub to a petitioning mod, they did, however, allow /u/She to become the "owner." The admins realized that this wasn't a good policy and began to solicit user feedback about how to build the site so that this shit wouldn't happen again. As theGozarian points out, users who were opposed to her hostile takeover of the sub began to downvoat her while some of her mods on /AskVoat encouraged a brigade to upvoat her (which failed miserably). In a panic, /u/She & /u/Shiny made it nearly impossible to downvoat anything in /v/AskVoat, but the damage was already done. /u/She then cried about how it was unfair that users were able to actually impact her ability to use the site by lowering her CCP. She conveniently forgot that she exploited rules when it allowed her to conduct a hostile takeover of a default sub (as a NEW USER) against the wishes and without the consent of the actual users. The users merely followed the rules and expressed their opinions in a manner which had an impact.

You guys are really fucking gullible. Blindly believing a mod of FPH is one of the stupidest things one could do.

just dramatic faggots pandering to each other about some stupid subverse because they would rather fixate on some non-issue rather than create or use a different, better sub.

ok but really, nobody wants her as a mod and she's obviously on a power trip and needs to be stopped. why can't they just revoke her mod status? i don't understand why were bitching and nothings being done. she won't change, we have to make the change. do a askvoat poll. should she be removed yes/no then do whatever the majority is. not hard

You say that, but I'd estimate there's maybe 500-2500 users who ACTUALLY give a shit about the whole thing. Most people either don't care, don't know what's going on, or are riding the misinformation train.

I donated to this site hoping this would be a revamped open discussion version of reddit. There should be a way to remove mods who are abusing their mod behavior and if a default sub has censorship problems it should lose its default status. My 2 cents. .

were subscribed at account creation because it was a default sub.

That's not how defaults work. You aren't subscribed automatically to anything when you create an account.
