You're probably right that there is no way to make a hard and fast rule for this one. It will probably have to be something addressed with our upvoats and downvoats.

Yeah I understand, especially since a lot of it can be subjective. Thanks

I just don't understand why people would want these rules when reddit exists and is way more popular.

We left reddit because we didn't want BS censorship from mods. Let the community decide what it wants.

Not at all, and in fact if you had read the discussion /u/CatManDew has refined that statement.

Never said that, just that posts like that could be left to the appropriate subs. if this were a SJW safe space wouldn't these rules be set in stone instead of asking the community for suggested rules?

These are just some few that I quickly threw together while on a break at work. Look at the comments for other suggestions people have had, no need to sound the alarm.

Edit: calm your tits.

While I agree I'd rather see FPH and racist content stick to it's own subs because most of us don't find that content funny the blanket statement of hateful material is pretty tricky. This needs to be refined further, sadly I have no recommendation how.

Yeah I agree, I was having a difficult time trying to word this properly. I feel like this falls along the porno line "idk how to describe it but I know when I see it".

Hopefully some users may have better wording.

Ya, that is the tricky part about humor. It's often at the expense of others but where do you draw the line at lighthearted vs hateful.

I guess it really just depends on who should be the one drawing that line and controlling the content, the community or the mods. I'm just a dirty /all-rat so I rarely downvoat anything because I don't think of any subverse as my community. But both, mod controlled content and community controlled content have their pro's and con's.

Maybe a better way to put it is content that is universally found funny and not more applicable to a different subverse that would be the only audience that would really find humor in it. Like I love dopgifs but if you're not into filmmaking you probably wouldn't enjoy them.

When can we not laugh at anything we want anymore?

You make something above satire, and it becomes dangerous.

Yay more safespaces! fucksakes.

It was my impression that most users wouldn't want to be seeing hateful related posts in this subverse. These were just suggestions that I provided, and asked for the communities input.

So don't get your panties in a bunch, as of now it looks like the majority are against #2.

As for the NSFW and click bait; Taging NSFW shouldn't be an issue at all - it's common ediquette. Click bait, that shits annoying and can easily be avoided, which is why I recommend that users don't post click bait.

You can laugh at whatever you want, these are just proposed rules to help make more user friendly for all that subscribe to /v/funny.

I was just giving my opinion. I get what the rules are for, and I didn't say anything against them really. I was just trying to point out when you can no longer make fun of something it can be dangerous.

I'm not trying to cause trouble just give my two cents.

I'd like to see click-bait defined a little more or maybe some broad examples.

Here is what is provided at /v/cats.

I would consider click-bait anything that has slideshows that you need to go to view the content. Just a quick example, but agree it should be defined more.

We also should add imgur, veuwer, and slimgur to the list of acceptable image hosts. Youtube, streamable, and vimeo for videos. Add to that good user suggestions for sites and possibly allowing original sources for webcomics since we really can't crash their sites at our current subscriber count.

That would (help) do away with clickbaity titles leading to ones own website.

Ah, I see and agreed, that's annoying.

Please see the comment about how this has been removed from the proposed rules. And see the other comments that I, other mods, and other users have already had about this proposed rule.

Gotta make that safe space so your fee fees don't get hurt.
