For the gazillionth time. They are NOT private entities. They either started with government money or they operate with government consent. They do the stuff the government can't because of that pesky constitution and what not.

Many received series A funding from In-Q-Tel [CIA], sometimes even direct investments. The DHS has a similar program under the office of the DIA. Lifelog was funded this way, and canceled once zuckerburg entered the fray with his project Facebook that when it was shown and intended for an internal university intranet social site was far worse then MySpace or CU2, yet somehow was able to hire hundreds of developers. They backed Facebook with billions.
These people aren't home made, they didn't start out in a garage or a bedroom, they aren't special, they connected directly with top officials and got the investment of a lifetime to exponentially grow a business. But with this liquidity capital comes requirements from the government which is kept hush hush under the NSA secrecy letters, which is merely a one sided notice informing the business of said secrecy clauses subject to criminal law if exposed, which is the cover for how these intelligence agencies are in their networks and likely mirroring all the traffic.

There's some good content on tiktok. Lots of pro american stuff, educational videos, and antisemetic things. Make two accounts. On one like the content that suits your interest. The other just like the pervy stuff and then you'll get liberal leaning videos and anti trump videos. See both worlds.

The set up, w/ censorship happening by a 'private corporation' not the government, is not an accident.
In China the CCP has laws that make it illegal to 'spread rumors'.
The US (and the west in general) doesn't have to pass those laws because Facebook and Google/YT have already made it IMPOSSIBLE to spread 'rumors' they don't like on their platforms.

Private foreign company vs private domestic companies. China has no legal rights to do business in this country. Twitter and Facebook do. Not comparable.
