Whenever I think about this subject, I am reminded of the question:

"Is it progress when cannibals start using knives and forks?"

That's just silly. Men are better cooks.

Srsly tho they really don't need cooks in the military anymore, they're outsourcing that along with pretty much everything else the army used to do except providing bodies on the battlefield... and even there we have a growing number of mercs.

This is true. I actually do the majority of the cooking at my house.

Military guys don't even cook for themselves anymore, it's all private companies.

Came here to say this. Was in the Army as a cook when they made us all choose another MOS as we were being phased out.

They certainly do in the Royal Navy, the cooks there specialise in f*cking up very good recipies and turning them into utter bilgewater. Bilgewater is tastier.

Yeah she is awesome. We got on the subject because her sister posted she was taking her son to sign up for selective service and that she was depressed because her baby is growing up. My wife asked me what selective service was because she was getting the impression that it was active duty. I explained that he was just signing up for the draft and asked her what she thought about women signing up and that's when I got that comment. She also went on to say other things as well but that was her first sentence which was too good not too share.

Think about that for a second though. Women can go their whole lives and not know what selective service is. That's pretty messed up when it's something that hangs over a lot of young men's heads. I remember dreading it and being fearful of a draft when I was younger but now I'm old enough to understand we'll never see another draft in this country without an open attack on our country with a clear enemy for us to fight, so basically WWIII.
