There's also a Jewish belief that if they tell you they're going to cheat you, then lie and say they won't cheat you, and then cheat you, it's your fault for believing them and getting cheated.

It sounds like sounds like a batshit crazy excuse the crazy conspiracy theorists use to answer the question "Why would an insidious, sprawling cabal of people trying to hurt you leave clues everywhere for you to find?"

It's a stupid excuse to hand wave away the fact that sometimes coincidences do exist. "Coincidences don't exist" is another such hand-wave.
