We want to save money by not flooring under the cabinets but right up to it, so that way if we want to reconfigure out kitchen in ten years but keep our nice maple flooring we will be shafted.

It's amazing how retarded people come when geometry of a wall corner comes into play.

You guys should team up and make your own interior design company, "Calculated Splooge, Inc."

Seriously though, interior design doesn't have to be (shouldn't be) a faggity profession. It takes actual competence and skills to figure out how everything will be constructed and installed. It's not all about picking from color swatches and floor samples.

All the bullshit shows on HGTV make it look so simple. It's not the show host doing the work, it's a team of contractors being told what the owner wants. They should really show the outtakes from those programs; where the contractor is laughing hysterically when they pitch their first design idea. What you see on TV is the compromise of "crazy ass design" vs. what can be built to code.
