Sometimes I have the feeling, shutterstock knows exactly what they're doing and have a blast.

[–] ErrantCognition 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Like honestly... Wtf would she be doing to that motherboard, and why does she need safety glasses

[–] Broc_Lia 1 points 12 points (+13|-1) ago

Safety glasses are actually a good idea when soldering. I've never seen it happen, but I've heard horror stories from pros about the solder spitting and spraying tiny globs of hot solder into people's eyes.

On the other hand, I've absolutely no idea why she would wear those ballistic safety goggles intended for shooting.

Injuring herself on purpose, so that she can claim workers' comp. Not only is she holding it incorrectly, she's also directing the soldering iron at the battery. Like, is she secretly whispering, "Allah Akbar" to herself, or something?

"Why I am not paid as much?" just because I am on sick leave most of the time? thats sexist.

[–] Gumbatron 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

You could call that a sick burn

[–] RedditIsTheBest111 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

2nd degree

[–] vastrightwing 0 points 14 points (+14|-0) ago

Let's see what's wrong with this picture.

  1. Soldering iron not plugged in.

  2. No solder or flux anywhere.

  3. You never hold the iron that way.

  4. The board is upside down.

  5. Nowhere to put hot iron when you're done.

  6. You don't wear purple in an assembly area, especially one ironed so perfectly.

  7. No solder sucker tool.

  8. No other tools.

She's totally not prepared to do any work.

[–] 13482913 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

  1. Soldering iron doesn't have temperature control and no professional would ever use it.

  2. Bench is too clean.

  3. Yellow glasses won't allow you to match wire or component colors.

[–] ilikeskittles [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Yeah that's a cheap soldering iron you'd get a Radio Shack.

[–] ilikeskittles [S] 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Yeah but we should hire her because she's a woman!

[–] vastrightwing 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Lol. And it's her turn!

[–] Slayfire122 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

You missed her wedding band.

[–] BentAxel 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

She's not grounded.

[–] newoldwave 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago

Wow! that's got to hurt.

[–] ilikeskittles [S] 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

Yeah 700 degrees. I've burned myself with the soldering iron before, you instantly crisp up. Also, she's using it like a logic probe. And...for soldering, most of that happens on the other side of the board.

[–] newoldwave 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

I doubt she's ever soldered anything.

[–] Broc_Lia 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Me too. Doesn't actually hurt that much because it's so hot, just kinda goes dead and itches.

[–] prairie 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I started soldering when I was under ten years old. I remember one of my early burns and sleeping on the kitchen floor with my hand in ice that night.

[–] watts2db 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

thats what I was thinking

[–] TheTrigger 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

She's also pointing it at the battery. Nope, nothing wrong with that.

[–] beece 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

And to think if the picture had her topless none of you dudes would have even noticed the soldering iron. Lol

[–] ilikeskittles [S] 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Well that is a valid point.

[–] uvulectomy 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I'm gonna need someone to provide this. In order to scientifically evaluate the claim, of course.

[–] SkippyMcSkipperson 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Man Hands?

[–] ilikeskittles [S] 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Holding a soldering iron at the hot end!

[–] BentAxel 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

oww oww Oww OWWW.

[–] TuxInATornado 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

I could wish the female tech I knew looked like that. They don't. They all balloon up like the Goodyear blimp after a few years. Most guys too. Too much time in front of a pc. If only she wasn't only a dumb model. At least the board she is working on appears to have been a real thing until it was repurposed for whatever propaganda this is.
