I think that every time I see someone walking a rat-dog. What the hell did we do to wolves.

Particularly with rat dogs. We selectively bred smaller and smaller dogs to the point that they could easily fit into tight areas that vermin occupy, making them more effective at killing whole mischeifs of rats.

Terriers are an example of this. Small, energetic and a very high prey drive. Excellent for hunting rats and keeping them out of livestock feed.

Let's not forget dachshunds. Any dog breed that dares to enter tight tunnels where no one else can help them and take on rabid badgers is badass and far away from being an useless vanity breed like a chinchilla or pug.

Actual hunting dogs like terriers aren't too bad. I'm thinking more of the ones we froze in a developmental stage prior to birth because someone thought it was cute.
