I'm fine with mods running a sub they see fit. If the community dislikes how the mods run it, they can go elsewhere.

That feels backwards. The sub belongs to the community, not the mods. The mods are required and exist to help the community function, but not the other way around. If the community and mods do not agree, the mods should be replaced. It feels we've got incompatible viewpoints here.

I disagree. A community is run by the mods. If the community doesn't like the way the mods run it, they make their own community. It's happened many times on reddit, and it's how it should be. Leaving everything up to the voters will leave voat how it is now, with every subverse having no real rules and you can post anything anywhere. Ruining the point of subverses.
