Love Chicfila.

Long lines at lunch time go by quicker than being the only car at a McDonalds

Employees are polite as hell. Managers always helping out; they pay an old person to greet people. Closed Sundays to let their staff go to church.

Food is great and fair priced. No shortcuts are taken. I would shill for them any day on voat.

Kind of off-topic but what is with fast food lines? They take forever. If there's 3 cars in front of you, you might as well go to a dine-in restaurant. Not only that but the prices are ridiculous now. A "value" meal now goes for $7.50+. Not to mention they get your order wrong 60% of the time. The next time I bite into a tomato I'm suing some niggers.

Because they hire shit people, and they keep trying to lower the quality of the food, while seeing juuuuust how high they can set the prices while getting away with it. It really isn't worth it, anymore. You're right: I'd rather pay $15 - $20, instead of $10 - $15, and hit a proper restaurant, instead of Taco Bell or whatever. Sometimes I get a very specific craving for a big mac, but otherwise, fuck it.

Never seen a hoodrat at Chick-fil-A. My only minor gripe about the one by my job is that they don't keep hot coffee past breakfast.

[–] bagano1 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Taco Bell actually never really hired those people until a few years ago. Now they've gone to hell. Taco Bell has been going to hell for a long time. They literally just don't give a fuck anymore and once the other taco places start expanding more, they are DONE. I didn't even know what a Taco Bell was when I lived in Oklahoma for a month. Never went there. Out west, I probably would never notice them, like in Nevada or California.

But yeah, hoodrats are the worst. Most are high on weed 24/7, fuck everything up then give you attitude over it. Be grateful to find one who actually gives a shit. It's like finding Waldo.

I've actually never even been into a Chick-fil-A.
Now that I'm back working in NYC maybe I'll make it in one day.

Chick-fil-A’s Creepy Infiltration of New York City

New yorker article - archive.is

[–] lemon11 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Its arrival in the city augurs worse than a load of manure on the F train. According to a report by the Center for an Urban Future, the number of chain restaurants in New York has doubled since 2008, crowding out diners and greasy spoons for whom the rent is too dear. Chick-fil-A, meanwhile, is set to become the third-largest fast-food chain in the nation, behind only McDonald’s and Starbucks. No matter how well such restaurants integrate into the “community,” they still venerate a deadening uniformity. Homogeneous food is comfort food, and chains know that their primary appeal is palliative. With ad after ad, and storefront after storefront, they have the resources to show that they’ve always been here for us, and recent trends indicate that we prefer them over anything new or untested.

In other words, beyond just hating the on-your-sleeve Christianity -- the author surely doesn't hate other religious trappings in the City in the same way -- he hates the people who eat there, precisely because they like it.

This is similar to a hipster's veganist anti-corporatism, where anything that tastes good must be bad, and its popularity only compounds the badness. It's a denial both of the delights and the values (in both senses) offered to customers.

It's a totalitarian asceticism which revels in the egalitarianism of crushing poverty at the expense of any cooperation which could relieve it. We need a more biting word than "leftist" for this, because that doesn't quite capture it. "Communist" does, but their word games have largely succeeded in turning that into the "bad word" Eddit Communists complain about non-Communists using, instead of the descriptor of the ideology it is.

[–] 1HepCat 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I think 'regressive left' fits pretty well.

I've never heard of asceticism being applied to the left before and usually I think of them as being hyper-cooperative. I suppose they'd lay the same claims against the right: ~"The right wants to deny people access to education and healthcare and Obamaphones--they're ascetics" and "If the right weren't so individualistic, they'd see the benefits of cooperating with the global community. It takes a village, you know."

Ultimately, I agree leftist policies end up promoting poverty. There is also some romanticization of it but I think most leftists really believe they can eliminate poverty through a blanket inversion of whatever 'power' hierarchy they deem to be in the way of their grandiose schemes. I.e., I don't think their asceticism is intended or a direct goal.

[–] Dkeere 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

[–] waffleman 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Pipenbring its the jews every single time. Damn this article made me so turned on by how righteous chick-fil-A is. The food is wholesome and it made the liberals wigg out.

[–] Firevine 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Not only is the food wholesome, so are the interiors. Pictures of veterans, families eating together, etc.

[–] Pawn 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago
