As an italian and a mostly left-wing person, i can confirm that Putin has nothing to do with the victory of the right and "populists" in Italy.

The leftist parties has simply been punished for their treacherous behavior in particular for putting Europe before Italy especially in economic matters and for letting thousands of economic migrants flood Italy and Europe doing almost nothing about it and treating it as a non-issue.

This is why Lega Nord (a right wing, anti-migrants political group) jumped from about 4% of consent of the past elections [~2013] to today's 17%... and this is why many who didn't feel like voting for right-wingers decided to vote for M5S instead (a "populist" political party that is neither left nor right).

The leftist parties (in particular PD) have only themselves to blame... if they didn't behave like traitors the results would have been very different.

Well, i have some ideas that are typically of the right, and many others that are typically of the left. When it is time to vote i usually do it considering the pros and cons of both sides and then decide so i am not really a "fanboy" of either side (this time i voted for the right "extremists" as many would call them).

For instance, i am pro-weapons, very pro-freedom of speech and expression, but i also believe more in cooperation than in competition. I believe that in this world we are pretty much all on the same boat and that it makes more sense to help each other than to compete for survival.

This is why i am not against taxation if the money are used to make everyone in my neighborhood/city/region/country live better (which also means less reasons for crime) and i also believe that the people that have a better/easier life should contribute more than others to make everyone's life better inside your same society after all your security also depends on this.

I am also pro-open borders when and if the populations of the two bordering countries are compatible with one another in fact here we have open borders with Austria and several other countries and this is rarely a problem (if ever). The problem arises when you let inside your "club" countries and people that are simply too different (different values, different basic ideas, people that maybe wants to exploit your kindness and use it against yourself, etc).

Yet, i think that the borders should be heavily guarded when you have to deal with populations that are not compatible with your society (for example africans, muslim, etc).

As i said i believe in helping others, but i also think that we should first help who is closer to us (both geographically and as shared values). Also, i don't think that we should ruin ourselves to help others... lets first think at our own future and at the future of our own children... and i also believe that we should stop helping who has shown a toxic/dangerous behavior towards us (for instance who lies to enter here, who wants to exploit us and our kindness, who wants to invade us, who wants us to disappear).

So as you can see i have many left wing ideas, mixed with several right wind ideas. It all comes down in what i believe is right or wrong i suppose.
