I hated those classes...why interpret what was written to mean something other than what was written? Wouldn't the author go into those details of why something is a particular color if there was deeper meaning to it? (I failed that portion of that class if anyone was interested.)

All my English teachers were older, cat-lady type women, in HS. I learned very quickly, that all I had to do was interpret everything as if it was a romance novel. Seriously. I remember writing an essay about Lord of the Flies and basically saying that it's a story of sexual frustration and acceptance of the need to appreciate the women in one's life. Their wrists would cramp up from handing out so many A's. If English/(((History))) classes taught me anything, it's how to bullshit like a fuckin' pro.
