I like to think of them as dangerous when raised by good owners, and more dangerous when raised by bad owners.
All in all, every pit owner I've ever met had said the same thing, and every single one of those owners has put down at least one of their dogs for mauling another dog, biting a child, etc. They certainly didn't beat their dogs, but pits are just well, stupid. They're stupid, and they're aggressive. Not at all unlike that most-celebrated of dark ethnicities who love owning them as a status symbol of aggressive posturing.

All dogs are aggressive. They are still just wolves we have selectively bread for different tasks.
These dogs were literally bread for fighting. I do not understand why people are so fucking stupid as to not understand why they are the way they are.

You haven't met my parent's Maltese. However, it's barely qualifies as a dog, more like a stuffed animal brought to life.

My sister's late pitbull, AFAIK, didn't bite or maul another dog. But it was an annoyingly heavy/strong/clumsy dog to deal with. Her new dogs are all now small breeds.
