I guess Trump's "your show had poor ratings" is the equivalent of "nigger faggot" here on voat.

Trump has a principle of proportionate response. He hits back just as hard when people attack him or betray him, no harder and no softer. This also works in reverse. When people make an effort to be good or at least fair to him, he pays his dues with public compliments. It's a very Pavlovian thing. He trains people to remain on his good side.

Trump is very good to those who are good to him.

Tonight on CNN: well known Russian Hacker and Trump supporter @Vladimir_Komarov has been spotted spouting EVIL NEO NAZI slag like "4-20" a reference to Hitler's birthday, once again proving that Trump is literally Hitler.

Can someone describe why people find Seinfeld to be funny? Every time someone is like "WELL YOU HAVE TO WATCH EPISODE XYZ, THAT'S THE BEST!!" it's some retarded premise that has random tangents that have to be deus ex machina'd together.

The soup nazi episode is cringey and childish. Do you go to Chipotle and start at the end and fuckin take a long time to order? No, because you're not a cunt-gargler like that bitch on the show is. I wish that fuckin bureau fell on her and crushed her ribcage.

edit: Is everyone trolling me? Like did a bunch of people get tricked into watching it and then were like "fuck I can't believe I fell for it and watched this shit. Lemme see if I can get some poor sap to watch it too so I don't feel as bad."

editedit: I am genuinely asking why people like it, not just venting. It's a total mystery that I cannot figure out.

I guess most of the people who really like the show, are those who were around watching TV when it aired, and as one of them, I can tell the stuff before it and most of it's contemporary shows were god damn worse! I liked "Married With Children" more, but still, most were "perfect" families and the jokes so cringy you'd puke. So, when changing between the far fewer channels to find something, an episode of Seinfeld was like an oasis in a sea of crap.

Another thing is, a lot of the people making later shows were inspired by Seinfeld, so they took the stuff that worked and perfected it, distilled it, then updated if for present day, so even the good stuff from Seinfeld will feel dated and like you've seen it before, only better.

I'm not a huge fan but still like an episode of it every now and then, but it's easier to like or forgive the mediocre/bad episodes, when one is so familiar with the characters, since you remember all the episodes you like. I bet you enjoy the worse Family Guy seasons more than someone who happens to watch them as their first, since you got more context.

In general, I think it's dangerous to watch TV and movies from before ones own time, odds are it'll stink (Sergio Leone movies being the one exception for me).

That's what I think.

BTW, the Homer vs Peter chicken fight, how awesome was that! They still got it.

It's totally stupid and mindless humor - I get why some like yourself would find it idiotic - but I found it hilarious. Although sometimes, depending on my mood it would grate on my nerves a bit (but not often).

Ok, that's a valid point, but I would counter with Family Guy which has totally random and mindless humor.

I like Family Guy and the stupid randomness, so why not Seinfeld? I would actually say that Family Guy is more mindless than Seinfeld, because basically FG has a premise followed by random absurdity and then a wrap-up exposition at the end. Seinfeld seems like it's trying to have a story in the episode, but it just ends up being cringey.

Thank you for the discussion, please let me know if I got something incorrect or if you disagree or whatever.

Unless they bite. My idiot cousin tried to punch a horse once (was actually trying to feed it an apple). She got a very nasty bruise on her chest for her trouble.
