XKCD supported Clinton, I'm not sure that will bode well with OGs (Old Goats)

Why are science folk almost always pro big government?

those i've talked to are smart, but seem to be historically, politically and economically illiterate

Because being smart in one area doesn't mean being smart in all areas. And like it or not, science traditionally gets a lot of funding from the government. Look at NASA for example.

Basically democrats allocate more money towards national science foundations and NASA who give out grants. They're voting for self interest so that they can have the funding they need.

Because the government is the biggest funder of science projects.

It has nothing to do with being "historically, politically and economically illeterate" and everything to do with being interested in science. It's difficult to vote for climate change denial when you have even a shred of knowledge about the issue.

Old goat here, I am anti-Clinton but you should know we old goats can laugh at things. I thought his recent comic for Clinton when I was typing that up but it didn't matter because that comic was what I assumed was being referenced.
