Not really, The US is the sole reason everyone is learning English. Think of Spain, they created the language, but Mexicans are the only reason anyone in the US bothers with spanish. Same with english, nobody does it to communicate with the brits, fuck the brits, it's to do trade with Americans. It just happens to have a side effect that you can do trade in britland.
