Disclaimer - I am NOT advocating or supporting Trump in any way.

As long as he/his company filed and submitted properly based on current tax laws. If the result is that no taxes were due the problem is not with the company or businessman the problem is with our tax laws and they should be changed. Now if his company filed improperly and illegally withheld taxes due then he/his company is the problem.

Again this is NOT meant to indicate support for Trump in any way.

I feel the same way about other laws, if you don't like them then you need to change them.

...and if said people start whining about 'loopholes' this or that, ask them if they have declared the free lunch they might have at work or made sure to pay their state taxes on all the goodies they mail ordered on the interwebs. :-)

This ain't reddit, you don't need to put two disclaimers saying you don't like Trump for fear of being banned for being not anti-Trump enough.

I think he's trying to emphasise his unbiased opinion toward the tax laws themselves and detract it from looking like a circle jerk trump post.

I'm just saying if you feel he or others are following the law but you don't like the result then change the law. Just Complaining that someone is doing something legal is a waste of time, however if you feel it is that important then work to change the law. This goes for all laws not just tax laws.

As for paying more taxes.. I am not advocating for more or less as part of this discussion. Generally speaking some taxes should be collected to run a country properly (to manage infrastructure services and so on), however proper management of those funds are just as important. Raising taxes does no good if they are mismanaged. Finding a fair way to distribute the tax burden is complex and I don't have the answer, however it does seem as if the tax burden in the US can be unfairly distributed due to overly complex tax laws and regulations.

You forgot to add in that the Clintons used the same provision and Bill was instrumental in having it implemented.

this is what ive seen a lot of followed closely by the "it hurts all of us" moniker. people actually believe that someone protecting their assets hurts others.

still unsure why these looters don't just rob banks if they want to steal people's money so bad

I'd like to know how many of his critics who qualify for the Earned Income Credit each year reject it and let the government have it to fix roads and bridges, etc. Lemme guess.. not a one.

I really do wish we could earmark our own tax money to go where we wanted.

That would never happen because everyone would dedicate 0% to politician's salaries.

Yeah, pay your taxes, citizen, so we can spend it on a bunch of shit you don't approve of or support, most of which will benefit our cronies.

Technically presidents can't own businesses. It creates a potential conflict of interest.

Only if they're violating the Constitution by trying to control businesses. That damn pesky 10th Amendment....

Fuck taxes.

The government should have to raise money through voluntary donations. If they can't get enough to fund their bullshit socialist plans, then it's up to the private sector to provide the service.
