I can only speak for myself, but I'm less concerned with changing the name than just pointing out how fucking ridiculous the whole thing is in general.

Agreed. But there are certainly people who don't want them to use that name. Which is language policing.

i disagree that all umbrage taken with words counts as "language policing." a name of an organization isn't really language. i really dislike the Patriot Act being called what it is for obvious reasons, would you call me a language policeman for saying that?

Well the poor choice in the name of their movement kinda belied they would be a shit movement. Same as NAACP. Now that said had BLM not been a complete turd of a organization? movement? I woulda let it slide. But the fact they picked such a shit name. Kinda was a dead giveaway that movement was not going to be worth a shit.

SCLC Kings oganization which he made despite his father being in the NAACP btw. Southern Christian Leadership Council. And really king wanted things to get better for everyone. Which is why he's not a fucking douchebag.

He might have been a terrible father and husband. But at least the fuck knew how to organize and lead a civil rights movement.
