it is a blatant ripoff of the art/comedy style of the oatmeal

I prefer the term, "inspired by". Like how the movie Critters is inspired by the true story of Napoleon's rise to power during the French Revolution.

But yeah, I love the oatmeal's stuff - maybe a little too much. I'll give this some thought.

Keep the brutal honesty coming. I really do appreciate it.

I don't think it'd be bad if it was just one aspect that felt that way, but seriously, the whole thing feels exactly like The Oatmeal. The typography, the space between the panels, the illustration, etc. The whole thing is like - this is the oatmeal (except not really).

I got a good chuckle out of it. You're a good comic. I love how realistically obese you made the man in the comic as well.

There's your next comic right there! You're just going to have to find a new art style in order to avoid all the "It's a ripoff of the Oatmeal" comments.

I think the respect we have for the oatmeal and Matt Inman comes from his originality and brutal honesty. To say you're inspired is totally valid but when the artwork, typography, and overall impression makes me think that it's an oatmeal comic then your mixture needs a little more "you" and less of "matt". I agree with the others, keep pursuing it but find your own style, don't hold yourself back by thinking that you have to be so close to the oatmeal.
