It's easy to demand free shit when you're not paying taxes

so you prefer the current system of private enterprise making things more expensive than if it was socialized?

Healhcare only to the people that can afford it? because dooming kids for who their parents is a good way to run things?

leave all schools, roads, police, and military up to private companies?

Don't try to play this game where it's one extreme vs the other Healthcare shouldn't be a super expensive vs. free issue.. Healthcare should not be free, but instead should be affordable.

Legitimate question. You shouldn't downvoat because you disagree. I do know people who would argue that everything run by private companies is a good idea.

Englishman here.

Tory voter, located in the North of England. A 'labour', left wing safe seat.

Honestly, if we start telling people they must die because we as a society can't afford to keep them, and riots come about. I'll take to the streets myself with the rest of the rioters, only with a Megaphone in my hand. I'll talk louder than anybody shouting and throwing shit, saying I BELIEVE IN TORY VALUES AND IM HERE NOW THIS IS BEYOND POLITICS. My great grandfathers fought in WW2 for the safety of Britons and I'd honour them if the government says now they must die due to illness.

I know that's a completely different mindframe to say, a republican of the US.

But economically speaking, you have a fantastic point and the downvoaters disappoint me by downvoating you. This 'automisiation is coming', and therefore 'people need free money', WILL HURT AMERICA. It would hurt the UK too. We're societies in which reward hard work and devotion, innovation and creation of produce/service.

Automisation came about in the past, which meant we aren't all farmers any more. New indsutries emerge. The Guardian did an article saying the call centre of the UK is the new 'working in the mines'. As if it was a bad thing lol being sat on your arse talking is worse than working in a dusty mine, waiting to hit a patch of gas that kills the budgie, then run out with dust and toxic gas in your lungs gasping for air... yeah the call centre being the new mines is a step forward in technological advancement bringing a higher quality of life.

People don't understand this. Automisation is so far off anything that needs addressing right now in real terms, it's basically a null subject. Ridiculous to complete as it wont be a factor in our lifetimes.
