Exactly, I don't think it's an intrinsically bad government program, it's just yet another socialist mechanism that only works in a homogeneous society, not this "melting pot" shithole we are heading towards.

Pensions and income insurance aren't bad ideas at all, they're just not best administered by government. Originally these, and health insurance, were managed by fraternal societies, usually with members who were workers in a particular industry and/or from a particular ethnic/cultural background. The limited entry and close ties allowed them to keep tabs on each other and make sure no one was sponging off the group. Government figures at the time were concerned about how powerful the fraternities were growing, so they hamstrung them and replaced them with federal programs instead. Suffice to say, it hasn't ended well.
