This is sort of a public service announcement for you all during the Holidays. I recently lost a loved one due to heart attack right after Thanksgiving. He passed away the same day as my grandmother, December 6th, right after Thanksgiving. I thought that this was a strange coincidence until I thought about it. People over indulge during the holidays which causes pre-existing conditions to be exacerbated. It's more than just eating and gaining a few pounds, the high sodium intake, alcohol and fatty foods that people over-indulge can be the last straw for someone. On top of that, cold weather puts strain on their arteries. If you have a loved one who has a heart condition or high blood pressure or something similar, please inform them of this. It's easy to break diet habits during the Holidays, but I want those people to know the risk that they are taking because I don't want anyone to have to lose a loved one during the Holidays. So spread the word and keep people safe by telling them of the dangers they are putting themselves in.
