Hey there, I'm /u/Demonic_Mime, the new mod of /v/bodyweightfitness. I post there quite frequently, and I'll probably post some good stuff here as well, although I'd be a lot more inspired if I got a sweet flair saying "Moderator of /v/bodyweightfitness", wink wink nudge nudge.
I've just finished crafting a beginner routine for the sub, which I think follows the longstanding Voat tradition of kicking the pants off of it's Reddit predecessor. The routine is a solid 5x5 strength routine that you can do with nothing but a pullup bar, although some rings or workout straps are recommended. It's completely modular so you can include things like explosive strength exercises, skill work, isolation exercises for mass, and burnout HIIT cardio for conditioning and fat loss. You can also squash it down to fit in as little as 15 minutes, if you need to, and still make good gains.
So if anyone wants to do some strength training but doesn't have access to a gym, or simply prefers bodyweight fitness, come check it out. I already have one guy doing it who's taking before and after pictures, why not join him? Once the photos of you guys getting ripped to shreds start rolling in I'll be giving out some nice flairs, "Beginner Routine Success Story", I think they'll say.
I have big plans for this sub. I hope to help mold it into one of the premiere bodyweight fitness hubs on the internet. It'll become even bigger than reddit's version, by merit and not by accident. Right now the community's rather small, but active, and seeking new members. Whether you're a bodyweight veteran with great ideas to contribute or a noob seeking to learn and make gains, you'll be welcomed with open arms.
Demonic_Mime, out.
