Sure for the forearms, grip, and traps (cause you have the weight of your dick pulling on your trap) but what about the calves and core? Jerking off just can't compete with farmer's walks.

That's why I go for walks and jerk off at the same time.

Nothing like nice wank al fresco.

Do you use fat gripz?

I don't because my gym has farmer's walk handles and they are pretty thick. If I had to use the trap bar I would definitely use fat gripz.

I used to do them. A lot. My problem with them is that they're SUPER effective. I basically dedicated a couple of months to having heavy farmers walks THE fundamental lift I based everything else around. After doing this I experienced all the benefits you talk about. Bigger traps, thicker mid back, stronger legs and manly forearms. BUT! I also got that powerlifting gut from building my ab size. My stomach was solid but getting physically bigger. I also didn't feel as light on my feet. Not the shape i'm after. So I switched from farmers walks to backwards waiters walks. Started feeling my transverse abs working again and slowly but surely got closer to the shape I originally started working out for. Would recommend backwards waiters walks for anyone looking to stay athletic and forwards farmers walks for brute power. Finding your own balance is always best of course.

Thanks for the tip. It seems like a cost effective way to get stronger too as you don't need the kettle bells or the weights or the gym membership. Two Home Depot buckets filled with sand and rocks can work as the weights.

Just make sure what you grip is decently wide. It won't work your grip and forearms as much if it isn't.

Because I do power cleans and cleans and jerks. Anything else?

But the forearms my man. Gotta throw these in to your routine! Then again I'm biased because I've gotten such good gains from them and they make my back feel great. I guess it's possible not everyone will love them like I do.

Power cleans work forearms.

My job is a lot of loaded carries, so yes, I am doing these fuckers often. They will make you stronk.

Be careful with the traps, they can get large really fast and become a complete turnoff to females and they're not all that useful either.

I think I’m gonna try this. My deadlift has been a weak spot in my routine awhile, and I like that it recruits calves and forearms too. Thanks for the tip!!

Just to clarify, my ability to deadlift with double overhand grip went up 50 pounds, not my max deadlift itself. Due to the stronger grip I'm able to double overhand more weight and don't have to rely on mixed grip for my volume sets anymore.

See, I think part of my deadlift failure is grip. My gym doesn’t allow chalk, and I don’t want to use straps. If I can really confidently improve my grip, I think I can train much better.

So, I think it will do what I need.
