I told him if he wasn't up to it I could do it alone, but a guy as big as him must be stronger than a skinny guy like me.

Bwahaha. Fuckin' smooth.

Really crushes the argument a lot of the male obeasts have that "it's all muscle" when they're really obviously just fupa-troopas.

I've have push more than a few cars in the last several years because of poor family members not taking care of their stuff. Cars are not as heavy as people might think. When you're a normal human with muscle instead of 50% body fat.

Well, that does vary depending on how steep the hill is.

But otherwise you're right. On flat ground I once pushed a friends car more than a kilometre back to his place.

Yup. I drive a tow truck and have to it at least once or twice a night.

If I remember correctly many of those older Volvos are made with heavier gauge Swedish Steel which is why so many are still around. Yeah those get heavy real quick.

probably coulda just strapped the car to it and waved a snickers bar in front of it's face instead. you'd be amazed at how fast urban cattle suddenly move when food is at stake.

I don't understand how you were able to park your motorcycle on the sidewalk and just leave it there while you pushed a car a couple of blocks. I don't think I would be able to do that without shitting myself with worry about somebody stealing it.

How would they steal it without the key?

I park the bike outside even when at home. My building does not have covered parking. It is not a cheap bike, it's a Ducati, but when the steering is locked you would need a flatbed and a crane/lift to steal it.

Can't hotwire it either because of the immobiliser.

Uh... really? I'm no motorcycle thief, but even I know that a lack of a key isn't enough to stop a thief with any experience.

You must live in a fairly low crime area. Motorcycle theft is a huge problem, such that people have their bikes stolen all the time, locked or not. There are plenty of opportunistic thieves who would love to see a bike that is regularly parked outside because it gives them plenty of time to case it and think of exactly how and when to steal it. It's basically an invitation. There really must not be many thieves wherever you are.

but when the steering is locked you would need a flatbed and a crane/lift to steal it.

Well I guess that answers my question about being able to walk away from it for a brief period, as stealing it would require time, tools and other equipment.

My car ran out of gas while I was on my way to work one day. Not a super busy road, kind of rural, but big trucks came through pretty often, so I knew that I needed to get it off the road. So I put it in neutral and started pushing it. Probably about 100 meters to the next turn off. I got it almost to the edge of the curb and it started rolling back on me. Around that time, a big huge trucker pulled up. He probably out-weighed his truck. "Oh, honey, a little thing like you can't move that SUV!" he yells to me from his cab and gets out. He helps me push it up over the curb and said "At least it didn't have to go too far, right?"

"Actually, It died up by XY street. I pushed it myself from there." "Oh!" He said, his eyes wide. As if a petite girl couldn't possibly have achieved such a feat. "Well, do you need a ride somewhere?" "No thanks, my office is just about a mile and a half up that road. I'm just going to walk it. It's a nice day."

I swear I heard his brain explode.

I had a friend in high school who was 5 foot nothing and rail thin. She drove an old piece of junk because she was 16 and it was what she could afford, and one day she came pushing it down my street because it had broke down. She had to do this pretty regularly.

But yeah, these fat dudes are mostly muscle, right?

She sounds awesome. Truck pushing. Ladies can do it too! I felt like my truck was getting a ride more than I was sometimes.
