On my way home from work traffic came to a halt. After essentially walking my motorcycle a kilometre I found the problem. A car had broken down and was blocking a lane.
I pulled my bike up onto the sidewalk and went over to help. I told him we should push the car up to the next street and park it around the corner so he wouldn't fuck up the rush hour traffic anymore.
He said it couldn't be done. It was slightly up hill and about 2-3 blocks away.
I figured that with his 300+ pounds all he would have to do is lean against the car and it would move. So I guilted him into it. I told him the car needed to move since he was taking time out of hundreds of people's day. I told him if he wasn't up to it I could do it alone, but a guy as big as him must be stronger than a skinny guy like me.
He took the bait, and we began pushing.
I have never seen someone sweat so much and puff so loud. I thought he was going to die.
Despite his condition he was little help as I pushed his car and he knew it.
When we got there he thanked me and said 'I guess I got my workout for the day'
Day? I am sure that was more exercise than he had done in the last ten years combined.
My response, 'well it was a good warm up, but I'm headed to the gym for a real workout, want to join me'?
Of course he said no. He was sitting on the curb because standing was too much for him at that point.
But the look in his eyes at that point made it all worthwhile. He was realising what a useless waste of flesh he was. He could not match the power of a lightweight. And the effort nearly killed him while having little effect on me.
I don't know that it was enough to make him change his ways. But he can no longer deny what a piece of shit he he is and how much of a burden on society he is.
