This is why I HATE group work.

Group work isn't meant to teach you team work, it's meant to teach you how to deal with shitty coworkers and people in general. In college I always had to do every group assignment by myself. It sucked, and I was super angry, but it taught me the lesson that that's just how life is. People are incoherent, incompetent, clumsy, lazy, unskilled, bumbling idiots, and if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

I told my students this. Group work is a chance to show you're not a piece of shit. People remember.

I always did the majority of work in a group because I wanted it to be right more than I wanted to obsess over fairness. Aaaand now that I'm in the real world, I still do the majority of work in my group. Thankfully, I have a boss that recognizes that.

People dont stay hired if incompetent.

I can start a group project at any time by giving instructions to people under me. If they dont follow them, they're fired.

See the difference?
