I was a size 6...Back in 1983. I am the same height and weight now as I was then, and I assure you : A garment marked 6 in 2016 would have been marked 10 at the very least, and quite possibly 12 or even 14 back in 1983. So it's quite possible that, thanks to vanity sizing, she's found one clothier in which she wears a size 6...But back in 1983, when to wear size 6 you could have a waist no bigger than 25.5" and hips no bigger than 35.5"-??? She wouldn't have begun to be able to squeeze into a 6!

Yes! I was asked to model some vintage dresses (40s and 50s some 60s) for a friend's clothing site, and I fit in anywhere from an 8 to a 12, depending on the cut of the dress/width of the shoulders (I have broad shoulders). I wear dress size 4, but pants I'm a 6 according to most of today's non-Old Navy super vanity sizes. I'm also at least an inch taller than Hammy and 25lbs. or so lighter.
