Well, I did have another relative (who was also a farmer) who made it to 74, he was overweight and smoked like a chimney. He again only ever ate lean mean, potatoes and veg, so no saturates and had good cholesterol, might have been to do with that?

Then again he only put on weight after he was about 60 and started doing less, was probably more to do with that lol. Was in great shape until that point. My guess if you are obese from a young age would be no

Right, what you see there is that while there are fat, old people, there are no old, fat people.

An INCREDIBLY important distinction to make. Oreogres see fat, old people and assume their dumbasses will make it past 50.

I never even thought of it this way until now. Many of my fatherside relatives are military, were healthy, and buried around 82-97. My motherside relatives were not and were walruses. I say were as most have passed, around 60-76. It never clicked that what gave me time to know my great grandmother & father was WHEN they gained the weight.

Saturated fats don't kill people, being fat kills people.

Saturated fats don't kill people, being saturated in fat kills people.

Yeah, that makes sense. No way these 300 pound 22 year olds make it that far in life.
