Has a fat person EVER lived pa st 80? Even past 70? 65? That right there should be proof enough that HAES is bullshit.

Well, I did have another relative (who was also a farmer) who made it to 74, he was overweight and smoked like a chimney. He again only ever ate lean mean, potatoes and veg, so no saturates and had good cholesterol, might have been to do with that?

Then again he only put on weight after he was about 60 and started doing less, was probably more to do with that lol. Was in great shape until that point. My guess if you are obese from a young age would be no

Right, what you see there is that while there are fat, old people, there are no old, fat people.

Saturated fats don't kill people, being fat kills people.

Yeah, that makes sense. No way these 300 pound 22 year olds make it that far in life.

My grandmother was on the line between overweight and obese as long as I can remember and she died at 73. I can't say I hated her since she was super nice and never pushed fatlogic on anyone, too much of her own fantastic cooking was her downfall :(

If they are a relative, it's OK to love the person but hate the fat. Just be careful mentioning the love here - you can feel it, but fats can (and will) misconstrue it when they read it.

That's my rule, at least.
