How do you make it to adulthood, with a degree, without realizing that the military has weight standards?
I joined up when I was 17 and knew that before I talked to the recruiter.

She seemed most upset that what she considered a healthy weight wasn't lean enough. This woman is starting to get a dose of reality and the armed forces one was a real bitter spoon full of medicine. I love that she also has a art degree that she's acknowledged is pretty much useless.

Any degree can get you an officership, as far as I know. That's far better pay and working conditions, plus people have to salute you.
My last commander had an English degree and could barely put together a coherent email. He was one of those ellipsis over-users.
