I am aware of the context of this specific show, but it still does not invalidate its parallel to the age we live in.

I'm pretty sure it's was a treehouse of horrors story, where the teachers were eating the students. But fattening up to be eaten or fattening up sure to laziness are close enough.

It was "Treehouse of Horror V", that specific segment was "Nightmare Cafeteria".

Cannibalism sounds more moral than gluttony.

Don't trip dude the Simpsons is totally relevant to the sub. Hell, there's an episode where Homer gets so fat his apathy nearly results in the entire town being destroyed. God, I love that show.

There is also an episode where Marge mentions that Homer puts butter in his coffee, now in real life people are putting butter in their coffee and saying it will help them lose weight. The world is on crazy pills.
