Keep up the good work!

For those who are wondering what language the ham spoke: Singaporean Hokkien

Singapore, yes? What do you mean by "we are an entire nation dedicated to cheap yet GOOD food"? Thanks!

This article gives some insight into food in Singapore. It doesn't look like super health food but does look yummy and affordable.

What /u/hypercat linked was quite accurate :) Our 'national dishes' tend to be rather high in fat but really delicious. However, any intelligent person knows that one is not supposed to eat those kinds of foods every day. These foods are very yummy but there are a plethora of calorie-wise, nutrient-dense dishes available as well, such as soup 'young tau fu' which are basically a kind of customized food bowl, where you select food items to be included as part of a main dish. Noodles and rice with fish soup are also popular 'healthy' dishes. Vegetarian food is also widely available. They are all tasty without sacrificing flavor. I hope that helps and should you visit my country, you should definitely try our local dishes. :D *oh but do be careful. To much fat, too many calories and all that jazz :) of course you know, unlike some people.... *rolls eyes.

Our national dishes are a confluence of different cultures. They taste very exciting due to the mixture of different ingredients and cooking heritages.(Chinese, Indian, Malay and more recently, European) At the same time, it was also a cuisine born out of poverty (at first) and necessity. That's why our local cuisine tends to be very flavorful while being made out of very humble raw ingredients. (Such as grains and various vegetables and meats. )

I imagine it means thier equivalent of a dollar menu gives you something more wholesome than a gristle patty in a bun with a slice of plastic cheese.

It's not... Well we win some we lose some. Let's say that what we have in comfort and safety, we lose in 'personal freedom'...

I always enjoyed the "THERE IS THE DEATH PENALTY IN SINGAPORE FOR DRUG DEALERS" on the back of the customs card.

...I don't take drugs, I don't even like pot. Still gets me nervous thinking whether some asshole slipped something into my baggage.

Beautiful city and beautiful people though.

Despite of the best effort from government (public gym, health promotion board biggest loser), the population are hamming up. Maybe it's caused by their obsession with food - carb-laden, high sodium type, star-beetus, cupcakes, krispy Kreme, ice blended milk tea or whatever current trendy food of the month/ week/ day.

Nice to see a fellow shitlord/lady from Sg here - but I'm afraid we're very much outnumbered by the current and future eatbeast and their enablers

Not yet, I refuse to let our country fattysize. As long as we continue to shun fatties in the dating pool, most of them will start losing weight after feeling the brunt of a loveless fat life. I'm also exorcising all my friends with fatlogic like a holy anti-fat priest. The battle cannot be won unless we all do our part.

Is this Singapore? Because it's full of Hams. Probably the largest stockpile of Asian Ham in the East.

Recently (the past 3-4 years) the hams I've spotted have grown an alarming size. Twice a week now I can see butter barges around the size of some of less deathly-fat-can't-leave-the-house in public when fats here used to typically be mediumfat level (at most) ... I'm seriously pissed off having to see them on public transport.

It's the reason I've been spreading fat hate to people I know for years now, the recent influx of gargantoids is alarming. When I see fatties, I change my accent and speak loudly "here-ru so many fat people-ru!".

Fats being fat. Embrace that feeling of triggering them by your existence.
