I read the whole article, it definitely proves that urban dictionary's definition is 100% accurate. Everything else mentioned is total bullshit.

Is there a name for the newspeak these tumblrites use? It seems to be a hodgepodge of buzzwords and loaded phrases which is so contrived to be self-parodying.

Privilege can't be earnt. If it can be earnt, it's a consequence, not a privilege. The fatty even acknowledges that fats can solve their problems through weight loss, but dismisses that argument by saying it's hard to lose weight. Brilliant arguing.

I lost 80lbs in 8 months. It's super easy. They probably give up or lie in the first week and say it doesn't work. Following through on something you set out to do is soo hard.

Agreed. "taxing on individual psyches." Taxing implies work, so therefore it avoids it!

It's words, people! No harm can come from words unless you let it. Period. End of story.

If people talk about you badly, and it harms you in the public eye, if what they say is TRUE, then you have caused your own harm. If what they say about you is FALSE, then what is the issue? You know it is FALSE, and it can only make that person look bad because they are liars. They are harming THEMSELVES.

Perhaps my reading comprehension isn't what it once was--did she just say that thin privilege is linked to heteronormativism? I am (normal, not thin), and so I mandate that people must be straight?

Let me make this perfectly clear. As long as everyone involved is okay with what's going on, can consent, and does consent, and the act doesn't infringe upon my rights, I couldn't give fewer fucks (tee hee) what you're doing.

While I'm on the soap box, let me get it out there.

If you wanna smoke crystal meth in your home, I'm totally okay with it. If you do it with a kid in the house, I am not okay with it. If you are driving hopped up on drugs and endanger someone, I'm not okay with it. If you want to use public healthcare to pay for the teeth you have ground down, I'm not okay with it (because I have to pay for said healthcare, and perform the services (although I'm not a dentist)). But if you want to do something--anything, and it doesn't hurt anyone in a way they don't want to be hurt, why on earth should you be forbidden from doing it?

Okay, let's get back on topic.

Crystal meth is kind of like being fat. You can't just smoke crystal meth in your home and be done with it. Because you do have to leave the house. You will go to the hospital and require medical care. You might have a family who the drugs affect. Being fat is all the same. If you want to be fat in isolation somewhere, good on you. But when your fat affects someone, and it will, it's a problem.

Can you can find a wide range of clothing (including socks, shoes, and underwear) in your size in most stores at an affordable price?

NO! Because everything is sized up to fit your fucking ever expanding waistline I cant just go into any store and pick up a cheap t-shirt or a pair of jeans! If I want something that fits I need to go to something a bit more upmarket and fuck blowing a fifth of my monthly butget on a god damned t-shirt! I need to get hold of my local patriarchy chapter, all that white male thin privilege isn't working for me.

These arguments are stigmatizing for people with eating disorders like binge eating disorder (which is an already invalidated condition in conversations around eating disorders and [mental] health).

True dat, true dat.
