This... this is so profoundly depressing to me. How can you delude yourself to the point that you don't even see your children's health problems? How can you be removing years from their lifespan?
Growing up, my family went to the beach every year with one decently obese family (not death fat, but extremely close). They had two daughters. The one who was my age was probably 50 lbs overweight at only ten years old, and couldn't go on half the rides at the boardwalk because nothing strapped over her gut. Yet, every day at the beach, her mom packed her a bag of chips and soda, while my mom packed PB&J sandwiches and water canteens. How can you do that to your daughter? She can't enjoy herself with friends because of what you do to her. And it would be SO EASY to change! The younger daughter was positively rotund by about seven years old, and she only ever wore one-pieces with cover-ups on top because she didn't want people to see her body fat. A seven year old, already ashamed of herself, but not knowing how to fix it.
It's just pathetic and abhorrent that these people are doing this to the people they're supposed to love most in this world.
