For the life of me I will never understand how hams manage to rip jeans. They're practically indestructible.

Friction...lots of friction.

They don't rip so much as grind away. Their thighs rub together 100% of the time. Denim grinding against denim wears the crotch out. That's where it rips.

I've worn out old jeans at the knees enough to where they rip. I also have short legs, so if I don't alter or cuff the jeans and they drag, I get rips at the seams near my feet.

But that's a lot of wear and tear before that happens. Unless it's a pair of jeans I wear all the time or don't want to give away after a few years, I usually replace them before it gets to this point anyway.

They must just be wearing jeans they no longer fit and damaging them that way.

I've destroyed jeans pretty easily...working construction, hunting, and similar activities...activities that hams are too fat to engage in.
