Doesn't PCOS only at most mean you might gain up to like 10% weight or something?

And if you watch calories in vs calories out and eat less you will maintain your normal weight anyway?????

What is this idiot on about?

No, women with pcos seem to have a bmr of about 1100 cals. Even on 1500 cals a day you'll gain weight until you reach obesity. Eat 2000 and you'll end up the size of a house in no time.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18678372 Adjusted BMR was 1,868 +/- 41 kcal/day in the control group, 1,445.57 +/- 76 in all PCOS women, 1,590 +/- 130 in PCOS women without IR and 1,116 +/- 106 in PCOS women with IR. Adjusted BMR showed a statistically significant difference between women with PCOS and control subjects, with lowest values in the group of PCOS women with IR, even after adjusting all groups for age and BMI. CONCLUSION(S): women with PCOS, particularly those with IR, present a significantly decreased BMR.

I have pcos and I constantly diet (keto) to maintain weight. I always assumed I was just sloppy at weighing my portions or was overeating and forgetting to note things in the past when I gained weight even when counting to 1800 and makng healthy choices . Then someone posted a study of the bmr in pcos, which explained a lot.

So, low carb diet for life.

Massive overeating not actually necessary to end up the size of a hippo if you have pcos. She'd have to eat about 1000 cals a day to shift a pound a week at that size, even with a normally active life.

1000 (one thousand) extra calories a day IS massive overeating. From one of your previous comments here ("it's 500 calories more a day to be a lb heavier at the end of the week") you appear to understand the concept, but somehow are not able to connect the dots and reach the obvious conclusion, instead are trying to fatlogic your way out.
